PRESENTS
Hearts of Vision
Chamber Orchestra
in Concert
The Hearts of Vision Chamber Orchestra was established in 2007 as the world’s only chamber orchestra composed of visually impaired musicians, under the leadership of music director and clarinetist Sangjae Lee, DMA, Peabody Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins University.
Through their insatiable thirst to fulfill their passion to perform and with an incredible amount of hope and courage, through sweat and tears and with passion, perseverance and persistence to achieve their musical endeavors, these musicians accurately transcribe scores into Braille, memorize entire programs, and perform without conductors on some of the world' s most famous stages.
At their miraculous debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall in 2011, they performed in the darkness 17 works including 3 curtain calls and received four standing ovations—showing the essence of music performance by touching the hearts of their audience.
Their Metro Detroit premiere performance will include works by Schubert, Gershwin, Freddie Mercury and Brian May, and The Beatles.
